2012 Summary and Roundup

As 2012 has been an excellent and much blessed year for this little website and it’s author.

God has been very gracious this year. I would like to take a bit of time to report back on some of the things which God has allowed me to do and write about this year.

The first and most notable change was, on the 19th January 2012, we upgraded from a Blogger blog to a full fledged and self designed and built WordPress site.

Blogger to wordpress

One of the results of this was then complete resetting of all of our states, So, as a matter of interest, here is a summary of what happened this year.

  1. As of right now, we went from 0 to a little over 8800  page views. This number is not precise because as of right now (14:00, December 31st) the year isn’t finished, and we might be able to squeeze in a few more before the end.
  2. The best day was by a huge huge margin, the 16th of February when Clint Archer referenced my article on tattoos on the Cripplegate. The result for me was 676 pageviews, a number unmatched so far on the site. It also resulted in my article being referenced by a Portuguese site, the result of which is daily clicks from this site
  3. As a result of this, by another large margin, my tattoo article was the most read article. It received 2,278 page views this year.
  4. To put this in perspective, the next best post was from my series on baptism, called How I was technically rebaptised… or not with 697 page views
  5. Keeping with the trend of above, word which was by far the most searched was the word ‘baptism’ with 236 searches getting to EvangelismTheology.

Also this year we began the South African Expositor’s Podcast. This is my effort to promote expository preaching, especially by and among South Africans, the country in which I live. The most listened to episode was ‘Moses Explains True Faith Part 1‘  by Andrew Zekveld with 57 downloads.

Because it was you, the internet who contributed to all these stats, I would like to thank you for reading my site this year.

I would also like to my 16 subscribers on the email list and the 37 people who have liked the Facebook page. God bless you and thank you.

Mostly I would like to thank the Lord Jesus Christ, who not only provided me with a website, and the joy in creating and writing it, but who provided Himself as the sacrifice for my sins, providing atonement and forgiveness of all of my sins, so that we can have everlasting life. Him we proclaim (Colossians 1:28) and Him we continue to study next year.

Happy New Year friends
