Podcast Restarting

Hi friends of the blog and listeners to the South African Expositor’s Podcast. You may have noticed that episodes have dried up. There have been several reasons for this, mostly related to me going on a STM to Kenya followed by a busy time of work.

So now I have to get back into the habit of producing episodes. A challenge is accessing some of the sermons from Pastor Clint Archer. I’ve spoken to the webadmin at Hillcrest Baptist Church and will be coming up with a plan to get them. The sermons from pastors Andrew Zekveld and Tim Cantrell are more easily available and their episodes should be on schedule.

So, Lord Willing, the podcast will restart on Monday 3rd of December. With its usual previous order Clint – Andrew – Tim. Also I will be experimenting with a new format of the show, cutting the sermons into two parts (for a 45 minute sermon) instead of 3.

And I would like to hear from you. Is there any South African based preachers you would like to hear from. Or would you like me to add in any more content to the show. Do you like the new time format? I’m itching to try my hand at a bit of original work with my mic, so that may happen sometime soon

Until then, stay faithful…

Site Fixed

Yay, Sit fixed, I’m very please to announce that my site is going again at full steam.

I’m planning on a post or two this weekend, look out for them 🙂

New Series

If you are a regular reader of this site you might have noticed a distinct lack of posts over the last few weeks. The majority reason is that I’ve been on holiday and taking things easy, while at the same time having lots of fun upgrading my podcast so that its got music and an introduction. (You can listen to my efforts here). But I’m happy to announce a new series of posts which will be coming out within the next few days. The series is entitled Two Truths About The Person And Work Of Jesus Christ. They come out of a series of interactions I recently had with a couple of Jehovah Witnesses. In our last conversation I quickly managed to steer the debate towards the person and work of Jesus Christ. The first thing we had to demonstrate to be true or false was the question of Christ’s atoning work, specifically, did Christ forgive sins both of the past and of the future. As a Christian, I strongly affirm YES! Whereas they equally strongly said no. The second disagreement was over the nature of Christ. Did He exist before the creation of the world or didn’t He? Christians affirm that He did, Jehovah Witnesses say that He didn’t.

Thus over the next few posts, I will show you just what the bible says on this topic. It is very crucial, if a person has the wrong Jesus, they cannot be saved until they repent of it and put their faith in the real Biblical Jesus

But I am afraid that as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, your thoughts will be led astray from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ.
For if someone comes and proclaims another Jesus than the one we proclaimed, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or if you accept a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it readily enough. 2 Corinthians 11:3-4

Sorry About that

Hi friends who subscribe,

I inadvertently posted Part 2 of my ‘Doctrine of Creation’ series, before anything was written on the post. Thus you got a blank email.

Sorry about that. The post is still scheduled for Wednesday 16 May.

All the Lord’s best to you

New Series – Creation

Hi friends

I plan on writing a 5 part series on the doctrine of Creation. I have come up with the following headings:

Creation, How God Made The World

Creation, Why God Made The World

Creation, Why This Doctrine Is Important

Creation, How The Rest Of The Bible Stems From It

Creation And The End Times

I hope you will enjoy this series. I plan to post them each Wednesday. However I thought I would offer this opportunity for you to ask any questions regarding this subject that I can including in the series.

You can ask by posting a comment or by using a new feature on this site. If you look in the header, second item from the right, there is an option called ‘Ask A Question’, click there and ask your question.

Long Distance Theology Today

Hi friends and readers of this website.

Today I have the honour and privilege to be guest posting today at Café Seminoid. I address the what is covered in the subtitle of this website, Orthodoxy and Orthopraxis.

Let me encourage you to skoot over and read the article here.

Cafe Seminoid is one of the websites featured in my Recommended Links page

When asked how the author of EvTh managed to write a guest post on a website like clintarcher.com, he was heard to reply “I guess I know just the author” 🙂

Happy reading

Featured Blog: The Cripplegate

My pastor, along with several others have decided to a start a blog to run alongside and to mirror the model of http://teampyro.blogspot.com.
Their blog is called the Cripplegate. The Cripplegate was apparently a place in London where various puritan pastors, unable to preach in church, would meet for prayer and preaching (read the history here)
Either way, welcome to the Cripplegate:
